The structure of the rooms division will vary from hotel to hotel. These variations can be caused by differences in the size of hotels, the types and level of services, and the organization preferences of management. The major departments in the rooms division are front office and housekeeping. A few hotels may also include security. These departments come under the control of the Rooms Division Manager or Director of rooms.

Excavations at Harappa and Mohenjo-daro in 1921-22 marked the discovery of the Indus or Harappan civilization (2600–1900 BCE). Later discoveries include major sites like Kalibangan (Rajasthan), Lothal (Gujarat) and, in the last two decades, Dholavira (Gujarat), Bhirrana, Rakhigarhi and Farmana (all three in Haryana). To date, over 1,100 urban and rural Harappan settlements have been found in the northwest of the Indian subcontinent.

Gothic Cathedrals are the masterpieces of late medieval architecture and craftsmanship. • Features include the pointed Gothic arch, flying buttresses, high towers and spires, and large interiors lit by huge windows. • The men who designed and built the Gothic cathedrals had no formal training in design and engineering; they learned through their mistakes

Toilets should be designed and constructed in accordance to ESD principles, specifically considering energy and water use. Energy demands should be minimised with the use of high levels of natural light and ventilation. Solar power & low energy lighting fixtures on timers or sensors should be used. The toilet facility should be painted in a light colour internally to maximise reflected light. It is preferred that all materials that are sourced are to be recycled, recyclable and/or renewable.

A system for removing gases or vapors from air by means of preferential physical condensation and retention of molecules on a solid surface. Adsorbers used in nuclear applications are often impregnated with chemicals to increase their activity for organic radioactive iodine compounds.

Due to the pressure conditions in a stack and a building drain, wastewater does not fill the cross-section anywhere, so the air can flow freely with the water. The water flowing down the wall of the stack drags air with it by friction and carries the air through the building drain to the street sewer. The air is then vented through the main street sewer system so dangerous pressures do not build up. The generally accepted pressure is ±1 inch of water column.

The design of structural steel lintels for use with brick masonry is too critical an element to be left to “rule-of-thumb" designs. Too little concern for loads, stresses and serviceability can lead to problems. Information is provided so that structural steel lintels for use in brick masonry walls may be satisfactorily designed.

The word “ceramic” comes from the Greek, meaning “burned earth” When something is burned, it combines with oxygen in the air; ceramic materials are nonmetallic materials often based on clay (silicate mineral). They are usually crystalline and brittle, do not conduct heat or electricity very well, and can withstand high temperatures. When loaded, they remain mostly elastic and exhibit practically no plastic flow. Many ceramic materials are used for insulation— thermal (firebricks), building (fiberglass), and electrical. Examples: glass, cement, china, stone, and brick.

Gamvar is packaged as two components that when mixed together make the varnish. According to Dr. de la Rie all varnishes should be mixed and used "fresh." He discovered that varnishes become less stable after they are mixed. In other words—a freshly mixed varnish ages better than a varnish that was made up years ago. This is why Gamvar is a component system. Painters mix up the Gamvar varnish fresh and put the date you mixed the varnish on the jar. Then you know how old your varnish is. I use my Gamvar within a year after it is mixed. If you prefer using natural resin varnishes at least use them when they are freshly made. Not freshly bought, freshly made from dissolving

A thermosetting plastic, also known as a thermoset, is polymer material that irreversibly cures. The cure may be done through heat (generally above 200 °C), through a chemical reaction (two-part epoxy, for example).

A material that had good tensile strength was wrought iron, which had been around for centuries but – like steel – had been expensive to make and limited to small batches. Developments in the late 18th century by one Henry Cort allowed wrought iron to be made directly from molten pig iron. In his specially-shaped furnace near Southampton he directed hot air over and through the molten iron. The oxygen in the air combined with the carbon in the iron and burnt off as carbon monoxide. To ensure that all the iron was treated, the molten mass had to be stirred or ‘puddled’ with long hand-tools.

Early research mainly focused on optimizing kd-trees for triangle culling in ray-triangle intersection. The key for this optimization is determining the splitting plane. A simple but often-used method is spatial median splitting, in which the plane is positioned at the spatial median of the longest axis of the tree node volume. To improve effectiveness, researchers proposed SAH kd-trees [Goldsmith and Salmon 1987;MacDonald and Booth 1990; Havran 2001]. In fact, with the appearance of kd-tree based packet tracing [Wald et al. 2001] and frustum traversal [Reshetovet al. 2005], SAH kd-trees have become the best known acceleration structures for ray tracing of static scenes

Fabrics for curtains, seat covers, or squab seating should be chosen to harmonise with the overall scheme and the colours chosen for walls and floors. Again, it is best to look for woven fabrics with texture and possibly self-colour motifs to lend life and movement without introducing shiny weaves, pronounced patterns or inappropriate designs such as Renaissance scrolling in a Gothic interior. There is a huge range of good fabrics available today and there is no need to automatically consider red or blue velvet as the only option.

Concrete used in structures and pavements is expected to have long life and low maintenance. It must have good durability to resist anticipated exposure conditions. The most potentially destructive weathering factor is Freeze-Thaw Resistance freezing and thawing while the concrete is wet, particularly in the presence of deicing chemicals. Deterioration is caused by the freezing of water and subsequent expansion in the paste, the aggregate particles, or both.

Condensation is not normally a building fault. It can occur in a new home because building materials, such as mortar and plaster, contain a lot of moisture. Water vapour is formed as the materials dry out when the home is lived in and heated. This is a slow process that takes some time to complete
